There are various current events and trends that have the potential to affect the water supply in Colorado. This year’s symposium will look at how energy production and climate change affect Colorado’s water availability and quality both now and in the future.

The topics to be discussed include water use for ethanol production and hydropower, the projected effects of climate change on Colorado hydrology, possible concerns related to forest fires and the beetle kill, the protection of current water supplies, the potential for reuse of water in the State, and the development of potential new supplies. The keynote speakers include the new State Engineer, Dick Wolfe and Justice Greg Hobbs.
